New details regarding the upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows have surfaced online following a purported leak of an artbook, unusually discovered on a hentai website, among other locations.
The "Art of Assassin's Creed Shadows" artbook, highlighted on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours, has rapidly spread across the internet. It features hundreds of pages of concept art, quotes, and development information related to the next Assassin's Creed title. The leak's origin is noteworthy, with claims suggesting it originated from a site known for adult content. Ubisoft has been contacted by IGN for comment.
While the original source has removed the gallery, copies have been archived on various file-sharing platforms and image boards.

The leaked art showcases concepts for renowned historical figures, major cities, and a variety of weaponry. The artwork also seemingly reveals potential plot spoilers for Assassin's Creed Shadows. While confirmation awaits the game's release, the images appear authentic.
The leak comes shortly before Assassin's Creed Shadows' planned release on March 20, 2025, following a postponement from its initial 2024 release date.
At a recent preview event, IGN spoke with Charles Benoit, the game director for Assassin's Creed Shadows. He confirmed the one-month delay was primarily focused on refinement, without altering core game mechanics. Minor adjustments were made to enhance player engagement and balance, with the parkour system receiving particular attention due to challenges presented by the game's Feudal Japan setting.
Benoit explained, "The Japanese architecture, the roofs are super complex. Probably the most complex thing I've ever worked with compared to Odyssey and Syndicate. We needed specific codes and animations to maintain fluidity, modifying the parkour transitions for even smoother gameplay. That's one area of feedback we addressed, and it's significantly improved in recent months."
