REPO’s developers have announced new plans for the game, including a clever addition called the "duck bucket" to help players avoid being hunted by the infamous duck. Read on to learn more about the upcoming updates and what Lethal Company’s creator thinks about REPO.
REPO’s First Update Details
Duck Bucket – Your New Weapon Against the Duck

In its first major update, REPO introduces a fresh map along with a unique tool known as the "duck bucket." This item is designed to trap the notorious yellow duck that terrorizes players throughout the game. Semiwork Studios shared details about this update in a YouTube video posted on March 15, outlining their vision for future content.
REPO is an online co-op horror experience supporting up to six players, where teams must carefully extract valuable items in a chilling environment. During gameplay, players may find themselves stalked by The Apex Predator—a seemingly harmless duck that transforms into a terrifying monster when touched or attacked, hunting players relentlessly for 10 seconds before returning to normal.
With the new duck bucket, players can now contain the duck, preventing it from following them around and reducing the chance of accidental activation of its monstrous form. Alongside this exciting addition, the update will also introduce new facial expressions and various quality-of-life improvements.
New Map – "The Museum" + Public Lobbies

Semiwork Studios has confirmed the arrival of a brand-new map titled "The Museum." This level is specifically designed to test players' parkour abilities, offering a fresh challenge within the game world. Additionally, extraction zones will feature clearly marked boundaries to indicate whether collected loot falls within the valid area for pickup.
The development team is also working on implementing public lobbies based on player feedback. They've noted that most players are comfortable with matchmaking systems that allow both public and private hosting options, especially with the inclusion of a kick function. As stated by the developers, “While adding a kick button may seem straightforward, it actually requires server-side programming—an entirely new territory for us.”
Despite these challenges, Semiwork Studios remains committed to delivering this feature, although it may arrive slightly later than other planned updates.
What Lethal Company’s Creator Thinks About REPO
Since its release in February, many fans have drawn comparisons between REPO and Lethal Company, another popular co-op horror title, due to similarities in gameplay mechanics and overall theme.
On March 15, Zeekerss—the creator of Lethal Company—shared his thoughts on REPO via a post on X (formerly Twitter), offering constructive feedback for potential improvements.
He wrote:
"REPO is fun. At first I thought I didn't like it since I felt so slow (and voice chat range is too small!) But everyone in the group working together to move a grand piano through a cramped old mansion without scraping it—that is like the most funny objective for a horror game."
In follow-up comments, he added:
"I'll probably post more thoughts on Patreon, but I think #1. Voice chat range needs increased, and the muffling is too much. #2. The levels with vast open space don't suit the game's design very well (similarly to Phasmophobia); it shines most in the cramped mansion layout."

Zeekerss also responded to a comment regarding enemy stealth mechanics, stating:
"Yeah, there also needs to be an in-game way to learn about how enemies work, but I'm sure they're planning that."
REPO has quickly become one of the most talked-about horror co-op games on PC. As of now, it ranks as the second best-selling title on Steam, just behind Counter-Strike 2. According to SteamDB, the game has already attracted over 230,645 concurrent players, nearly reaching Lethal Company’s all-time peak of 240,817 players.
Stay tuned for more updates and enhancements coming soon to REPO!
