- Play wired or wireless
- Compact design with full-sized control sticks
- Useful Backbone companion app
Following last year's Backbone One 2nd-gen controller supporting iPhone 16, the company has upped the ante with the Backbone Pro. This next-gen controller offers both Bluetooth wireless connectivity and direct USB-C connection options.
The wired mode promises instantaneous response without charging needs, while wireless operation provides greater freedom of movement. Notably, the Backbone Pro works across smartphones, tablets, computers, smart TVs, and VR systems.
Designed as a universal controller solution, its FlowState Technology enables seamless switching between previously paired devices. The engineering team achieved this while maintaining full-sized joysticks in what they claim is their most compact design yet.
Additional features include customizable controls, programmable rear buttons, and the Backbone app for accessing Apple Arcade, Netflix gaming, Xbox Remote Play, Steam Link, and GeForce NOW. Backbone+ subscribers gain access to an included game library.
"We envision gaming beyond single devices," states Maneet Khaira, Backbone's Founder and CEO. "The Backbone Pro delivers immersive gaming across all your screens with one controller."
The Backbone Pro is now available through the official website, with UK availability coming soon. For compatible games, check our recommended controller-supported Android titles.
