Pokémon Go celebrates Pokémon Pokopia with a costumed Ditto event

• Disguised Ditto conceals itself among wild spawns from March 10th to 16th
• Shiny Ditto and Special Background encounters are available
• Lapras, Snorlax, and Dragonite appear in three-star raids

As we reach the final phase of the Road to Kalos event, with the global leg of Pokémon Go Tour: Kalos launching tomorrow, the lines between events are beginning to blur. Just as one series of raids and bonuses concludes, Niantic is introducing the next themed event as part of the upcoming Memories in Motion season, putting the spotlight on a costumed Ditto.

From March 10th to 16th, Ditto returns to its signature skill – impersonating other creatures. This time, it appears wearing a hat or cap, but you won’t see it directly in the wild.

Instead, it will be disguised behind other Pokémon, meaning every seemingly normal catch has a slight chance of revealing a more amusing creature once the disguise is removed. A Shiny variant is also included, along with event-themed Special Backgrounds if you trigger the right encounter.

The surrounding spawns remain familiar. Starter Pokémon such as Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle are rotating, alongside Pikachu, Sudowoodo, and Zorua. Exploration is encouraged with boosted XP from spinning PokéStops, particularly those visited for the first time.

Raids feature Lapras, Snorlax, and Dragonite in three-star slots. While not entirely unexpected, all three offer Shiny possibilities and the chance for event backgrounds. If you are managing raid passes during the final stages of Kalos, it may be wise to check the Pokémon Go raid schedule to avoid spreading yourself too thin.

Timed Research, Collection Challenges, and themed Field Research complete the event, along with a free Ditto Eye Mask avatar item available in the shop. This is a lighter, more playful event, yet it aligns well with the structured weekly rhythm that Memories in Motion appears to be establishing.

If you are returning for Pokopia, remember to collect the latest Pokémon Go codes before heading out to hunt.
