Monster Hunter Wilds has achieved a remarkable feat by selling over 8 million units in just three days, making it Capcom's fastest-selling game to date. This achievement is noteworthy, especially considering the presence of some bugs within the game. Dive in to explore Capcom's impressive milestone and the latest updates for Monster Hunter Wilds.
Monster Hunter Wilds Is Now Capcom’s Fastest Selling Game
Monster Hunter Wilds (MH Wilds) has shattered records by becoming Capcom's fastest-selling game, with sales exceeding 8 million units within three days of its release. Capcom announced this milestone on their official website, highlighting MH Wilds as the quickest title to reach this impressive sales figure in the company's history.
According to SteamDB, MH Wilds enjoyed significant success upon launch, achieving over 1.3 million concurrent players on Steam despite mixed reviews. Capcom credits this success to their dedicated marketing efforts, which included showcasing the game at global video game events and conducting an open beta test to give players a firsthand experience of what MH Wilds offers.
Latest Update Addressed Game-Breaking Bug
MH Wilds has recently released an update to address several bugs that were hindering player progress. On March 4, 2025, Monster Hunter's official support account, Monster Hunter Status, announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the hotfix patch Ver.1.000.04.00 is now available across all platforms.
This update tackled multiple issues, including the "Grill a Meal" and "Ingredient Center" features not unlocking despite meeting the necessary criteria, the inability to access the Monster Field Guide, and a critical game-breaking bug that blocked story progression in Chapter 5-2, "A World Turned Upside Down." Players are required to update the game before they can continue playing online.
However, not all issues were resolved in this update. Some remaining bugs include a network error triggered when players use an SOS flare after a quest has started, and Palico's blunt weapon attacks failing to inflict stun and exhaust damages. These multiplayer-related bugs are expected to be addressed in a future patch.
