What's next for Halo? It appears fans will receive another exciting reveal this October at the Halo World Championship 2025.
In a recent blog post, Tahir "Tashi" Hasandjekic, Esports Lead for the Halo franchise, encouraged fans to attend the Seattle event from October 24 to 26 to learn what Halo Studios has been developing behind the scenes.
During last October's event, developer 343 Industries announced its rebranding to Halo Studios and confirmed multiple projects in development. Simultaneously, the studio revealed that all future Halo titles would be built using Unreal Engine, moving away from the Slipspace Engine that powered Halo Infinite.
These announcements were presented in a seven-minute video aired before the Halo World Championship grand finals. The footage highlighted the outcomes of Project Foundry—an experimental initiative demonstrating Halo gameplay within Unreal Engine—and signaled a fresh start for Xbox's flagship franchise following 2021's Halo Infinite.
In his blog post, Tashi referenced last year's announcements and hinted at more reveals coming this October.
"Recent weeks have seen considerable speculation about when and where we might share details about the multiple projects Halo Studios is actively developing," Tashi stated. "While we typically avoid commenting on such rumors, this time we wanted to join the conversation and provide additional context for Halo enthusiasts who might be deciding whether to attend this year's championship."
"Last year at HaloWC, we premiered 'A New Dawn' where we discussed our transition to Unreal Engine, offered a behind-the-scenes look at Project Foundry, and introduced our evolution into Halo Studios as we embarked on a new chapter for the franchise. For our team, 'A New Dawn' represented just the beginning—at this year's HaloWC, we're excited to continue that conversation."
"While speculation can be entertaining, if you want official information about Halo Studios' current projects, you won't want to miss this year's Halo World Championship. We genuinely hope you'll join us in Seattle this October!"

So what might Halo Studios have planned for the upcoming announcement? While a complete gameplay reveal for the next major Halo installment seems unlikely, we might see a more detailed technical demo showcasing Halo running on Unreal Engine. Earlier this month, reports suggested Microsoft is preparing a Halo: Combat Evolved remaster for 2026 release, potentially including PlayStation 5 among its target platforms.
