Developer Announces Major Tweaks to REPO's Overcharge and Difficulty Scaling

Overcharge Overhaul

The Overcharge feature empowers players to counter enemies by lifting and hurling them onto hard surfaces or away from their squad. However, this action isn't without limits; players must monitor their overcharge meter, as exceeding it leads to an explosive consequence.

Originally available right from the start, the Overcharge mechanic will now be unlocked at level 10. As part of a broader strategy to enhance game difficulty, new mechanics will be introduced every 10 levels (at levels 20, 30, and so on), with Overcharge marking the beginning of this progression.

These new mechanics will not only challenge players but also enrich the game's lore. Semiwork's team emphasized, "So this system will be also tied to lore. It won’t be just a gimmick for no reason. There will be something attached to this and we will share more details in the future."

Developers Joined Open Beta Matchmaking

In an effort to directly engage with the community, Semiwork's developers participated in the open beta's random matchmaking. Pontus Sundstrom, a developer at Semiwork, expressed his delight in witnessing players enjoy the new additions to the game.

He shared, "And I've also actually played with a lot of you guys - incognito, in secret, through the random matchmaking in the servers." Sundstrom continued, "And I've been asking some questions and finding out what you guys find fun, stuff like that."
