Firaxis Games hasn't ruled out the possibility of Gandhi's return to Civilization VII, hinting at a potential DLC release. This follows an IGN interview with lead designer Ed Beach on February 13, 2025, addressing the absence of several familiar civilizations and leaders from the base game.
Gandhi's Potential Return as DLC
Beach clarified that the omission of leaders like Gandhi and civilizations such as Great Britain wasn't due to oversight. Instead, the sheer number of popular choices necessitated leaving some out to make room for new and exciting additions. He emphasized that Firaxis is considering the long-term picture and hasn't forgotten about past favorites. The implication is strong that Gandhi, and potentially other absent leaders, will eventually be reintroduced via future DLC.
Given the extensive DLC history of Civilization VI, Gandhi's inclusion in Civ VII as DLC seems likely. However, a concrete release date remains unannounced.
