Rules of the Game Svara (Svarka)

Svara (Svarka) is an engaging card game that is played with a deck of 32 cards, ranging from 7 to Ace. It can be enjoyed by a minimum of two players, and the game encompasses a total of 4,960 possible combinations.

Rules

Each player is dealt three cards in a clockwise direction. The winner of the game is determined by the player who accumulates the highest number of points. The scoring system follows these specific rules:

1. Cards from 7 to 9 are valued at 7 to 9 points respectively.
2. Cards 10, J, Q, and K are each worth 10 points.
3. Aces are valued at 11 points.
4. Cards of the same suit are combined to total their sum. For example, Q♦, K♦, and 10♠ sum up to 20 points, while 10♠, 8♠, and K♥ total 18 points.
5. Aces can be combined regardless of their suit; two Aces total 22 points, and three Aces sum up to 33 points.
6. The 7♣, known as "Ceco Jonchev, Chechak, Chotora, Shpoka, or Yoncho," can be combined with any other card for 11 points.
7. Three 7s yield 34 points, making this the strongest combination in the game.
8. Three of a kind are valued at three times the value of the leading card. For instance, three 8s equate to 24 points (3 x 8 = 24), and three Queens equal 30 points (3 x 10 = 30).

Examples

• 7♥, 9♦, 9♣ give a total of 9 points (this is the worst hand).
• 10♠, 10♦, 10♣ give a total of 30 points.
• 8♣, K♥, 9♦ give a total of 10 points.
• K♥, 9♥, Q♣ give a total of 19 points.
• Q♣, Q♥, 9♦ give a total of 10 points.
• A♠, A♦, 10♣ give a total of 22 points.
• 8♠, A♦, 7♣ give a total of 22 points.
• 10♦, 9♦, J♦ give a total of 29 points.
• Q♣, Q♥, Q♦ give a total of 30 points.
• 7♣, K♥, K♦ give a total of 31 points.
• 7♣, A♥, A♦ give a total of 33 points.
• Two 7s, regardless of suit, give a total of 23 points.

Betting

1. Before the cards are dealt, each player places an initial bet known as the ante.
2. The player to the left of the dealer announces their bet. Before seeing their cards, they can opt for a blind bet.
3. If a player makes a blind bet, the next player to their left can choose to double it.
4. If a player skips the blind bet, the subsequent player cannot initiate a new blind bet. (Blind bets are optional.)
5. After the cards are dealt, players proceed with their bets.
6. If there is a blind bet, the next player must at least double the bet.
7. To see the cards of other players, the player who made the blind bet must cover the bet.
8. If there is a blind bet and it remains unpaid, the player who made the last blind bet wins.
9. The player with the highest points wins the game.
10. If there is no blind bet and no other bets, the dealer wins.
11. If two or more players have the same number of points, it results in a SVARA.
12. SVARA initiates a new game that includes all bets from the previous round.
13. Any player can join the SVARA by paying the SVARA join fee.
