Application Description

Sueca is an exciting Portuguese point-trick card game enjoyed by people of all ages.

Played widely in Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Macao, Mozambique, Nagasaki, and Goa, Sueca is a team-based game for four players, with partners competing together.

The goal in Sueca is to collect as many tricks as possible. Using a 40-card deck (a standard deck without the 8s, 9s, and 10s), card ranks from highest to lowest are: Ace, 7, King (K), Jack (J), Queen (Q), 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. Point values are Ace (11 points), 7 (10 points, called "manilha" in Portuguese), King (4 points), Jack (3 points), Queen (2 points), with all other cards worth zero points.

When you win a trick, you collect all the points from the cards in that trick. Remember: the highest card from the trump suit always takes the trick!

For two players, try Bisca—a variation very similar to Sueca—also available in this app.
