Rummy 500 (also called Persian Rummy, Pinochle Rummy, or 500 Rum) is a beloved card game similar to classic Rummy but unique in allowing players to pick up multiple cards from the discard pile.

Under standard Rummy 500 rules, players earn points for melded cards while losing points for remaining deadwood cards in hand when someone goes out.

Game Rules:

• Playable with 2-4 players

• Uses a single deck including jokers

• Each player receives 7 cards

• The goal is to be first to reach 500 points

• Even if multiple players hit the target, only the highest scorer wins

• Create sets (3-4 cards of the same rank) or sequences (3+ cards of the same suit in order) for scoring

• Each turn involves drawing a card and ends with discarding

• During your turn, you may also lay down melds or add to existing ones (called building)

• Jokers act as wild cards in sets or sequences

• You may collect multiple discards but must use the most recent one

• Any cards taken from the discard pile must form a meld immediately

• Face cards are worth 10 points, Aces count as 11 (or 15 if held unmelded), and Jokers assume their replaced card's value plus 15 penalty points

• The game consists of multiple scoring rounds

• Cumulative scores determine the winner when someone reaches/exceeds 500 points

• Ties are resolved through a playoff round
