American rock band Alien Ant Farm expressed that it was a "bummer" not to be included in the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 soundtrack, even though their track "Wish" had originally appeared in the fourth installment of the game series.
A number of tracks from the original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 and Pro Skater 4 have been revived for the remastered game's playlist, including hits like Motörhead's "Ace of Spades." However, many other songs have been left out, replaced by new additions instead.
BBC News recently asked Alien Ant Farm about a sad-face emoji the band posted on social media in reaction to the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 soundtrack reveal—once it became clear the band’s song would not be returning. Thanks to VGC for the coverage.
"Absolutely, it's a bummer that we weren’t invited or included," said guitarist Terry Corso. "We understand they're aiming to bring in some fresh material for these releases, and if cuts have to be made, they have to be made. I just don’t know why it had to be us—I feel like our track really fit well and performed great in the game."
"I kind of get it that skating tends to have a more punk vibe, and we aren't a punk band," added lead vocalist Dryden Mitchell, "but I think that’s what makes a soundtrack stand out—a diverse mix that brings something different to the table."
Fan reactions to the newly revealed soundtrack have been mixed; some are thrilled to see returning songs by CKY and Iron Maiden, while others said they’ll miss bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers and Zebrahead.

On Instagram, Tony Hawk took personal responsibility for the soundtrack selection in the remake, explaining that he intentionally introduced an element of discovery, giving players the chance to hear both fresh tracks and familiar favorites.
"It was my decision to include different songs by some of the same artists featured on the original THPS3+4 soundtracks," Hawk explained. "I hope that discovering new music is half the fun, and a big part of why these soundtracks resonated in the first place. So listen up and enjoy the ride."
Similarly, while the game retains most of the iconic skate parks and skaters, it also introduces new maps and a few fresh faces—including, for some reason, Michelangelo, the party-loving Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 is set to launch on July 11 for PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2.
