The PC version of Stellar Blade is set to launch on Steam on June 11, bringing with it a host of PC-specific enhancements, as revealed by a trailer inadvertently published by Sony on the PlayStation YouTube channel. Although the trailer was quickly removed, the internet preserved it, and we anticipate an official release soon.
Alongside the PC launch, Sony unveiled the Stellar Blade Complete Edition, which encompasses the base game and all the DLCs released for both PS5 and PC. This announcement arrives over a year following the game's successful debut on PS5 in April 2024.
Stellar Blade on PC will feature all the expected enhancements, including AI upscaling with Nvidia DLSS 4 and AMD FSR 3, an unlocked framerate, support for Japanese and Chinese voiceovers, ultrawide display compatibility, higher resolution environment textures, and DualSense support for haptic feedback and trigger effects.
The trailer also introduced a new boss battle against Mann, the Leader of the Sentinels, and 25 new costumes, which are expected to be available on PS5 as well. Additionally, a sequence at the trailer's end, where Eve releases a memory stick not present in the original game, has sparked speculation about a new ending or potential DLC.
Stellar Blade has been a significant success for Korean developer Shift Up, generating $43 million in royalties in its last financial year. The studio anticipates that the PC version will surpass the sales of the PS5 version, which sold over a million copies within two months. Shift Up is also considering the development of another game in the franchise.
In Stellar Blade, players assume the role of Eve, fighting against mysterious invaders to reclaim Earth in a fast-paced action role-playing game. The game received a 7/10 score from IGN, highlighting its strengths in action gameplay while noting some shortcomings in character development, storytelling, and certain RPG mechanics.
