Nintendo's Japanese retail launch of the Alarmo alarm clock has been delayed due to insufficient stock. This article provides details on the postponement and the future availability of the product.
Japan-Wide Alarmo Sales Postponed
Nintendo Japan announced on their website that the general release of the Alarmo, originally scheduled for February 2025, has been postponed indefinitely due to production and inventory challenges. The impact on international availability (with a general release planned for March 2025) remains unclear.
As an interim measure, Nintendo is offering a pre-order system exclusively to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in Japan. Pre-orders will open in mid-December, with shipments commencing in early February 2025. The precise pre-order start date will be announced separately.
The Nintendo Alarmo: A Popular Alarm Clock
Launched globally in October, the Alarmo is an interactive alarm clock featuring iconic music from various Nintendo franchises, including Super Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, and Ring Fit Adventure, with more soundtracks promised via future updates.
Its initial global release, including online sales for Nintendo Switch Online members, proved incredibly popular, leading Nintendo to halt online orders and switch to a lottery system. The Alarmo quickly sold out in physical Nintendo stores across Japan and even the New York Nintendo store.
Further updates on pre-orders and the rescheduled general sale will be shared as they become available.
