Exciting times are ahead for fans of Monster Hunter Now, as Niantic introduces a thrilling new feature called Monster Outbreaks. Currently in the testing phase, this feature aims to gather player feedback to fine-tune the experience before its official rollout. So, what exactly is happening with Monster Outbreaks?
When Is the Monster Outbreaks Testing in Monster Hunter Now?
The testing phase for Monster Outbreaks will take place from April 26th to 27th, offering a brief window each day for hunters to dive in. You can participate in the event twice a day on both Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00 to 10:59 a.m. and again from 3:00 to 3:59 p.m., local time.
During these times, specific outbreak points on the map will be swarmed by 8-star Black Diablos. The challenge? Collaborate with other players to take down a total of 100 Black Diablos at each outbreak spot within the one-hour window. Note that this count is local to each outbreak point, not a global tally.
To participate, you must have at least HR 11. Also, remember, the party feature won't be available; only in-person group hunts will count towards the goal.
Outbreak points are easily identifiable on the map with a unique icon. Simply tap on these icons to view the details and even sign up on a roster to coordinate with other hunters.
Black Diablos Is Rolling Up with Serious Boss Energy, in Swarm Mode!
The mechanics of the slay count add an intriguing twist. For instance, if you and three other hunters take down a single Black Diablos, it counts as four towards the 100 needed to meet the goal.
Should your group reach the 100-monster target before time runs out, you can continue hunting Black Diablos for the remainder of the hour. These outbreaks will exclusively feature Black Diablos.
Achieving the 100-monster goal also comes with rewards. Successful groups will receive 3 Black Diablos Tailcases, 3 Ridges, 3 Primeshells, 3 Marrows, and 2,000 Zenny. Additionally, using the sign-up roster could earn you a special Outbreak Test I Medal.
