Marvel enthusiasts eagerly anticipating more adventures with Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight in the MCU may need to adjust their expectations. While a second season of the Disney+ series isn't on the horizon, Marvel Television head Brad Winderbaum has confirmed that fans can look forward to seeing more of the character in the future. However, the format of Moon Knight's return will differ from the original series due to a shift in Marvel Television's strategy.
Since the release of Moon Knight in 2022, Marvel Television has pivoted from its initial approach of using TV shows to introduce characters who would later appear in other MCU projects. Previously, this method was used effectively with shows like Ms. Marvel, which introduced Kamala Khan before her role in The Marvels. Now, the focus has shifted towards creating shows that are designed to be annual releases, embracing a more traditional television model.
Winderbaum elaborated on this change, stating, “So I think Marvel Television has happened in waves, and I think Moon Knight happened in a wave of shows that were going to establish characters that would tie-in to the future. And moving forward our priorities have shifted. We’re making shows as shows that can exist as annual releases, more like television. I would love to see a Moon Knight Season 2, but there are plans for Moon Knight down the road.”

While fans have enjoyed Isaac's voice work as Moon Knight in the third season of the animated series Marvel’s What If…?, there's currently no news on his return in live-action form. The MCU's upcoming TV lineup includes eagerly anticipated shows like Daredevil: Born Again premiering in March, Ironheart in June, Eyes of Wakanda in August, Marvel Zombies in October, and Wonder Man in December.
In other news, Marvel Television recently paused development on three shows: Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc. However, Winderbaum revealed exciting prospects for fans of street-level heroes, with Marvel exploring the possibility of reuniting the team known as The Defenders, which includes Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist.
