Freedom Wars Remastered features Abductors with visible health bars. Players utilize various weapons and items to deplete this health. The game employs diverse damage types, each with unique effects. While Light Melee weapons target specific body parts, Impact Damage plays a crucial role in overall combat strategy. Mastering Impact Damage significantly improves Abductor takedown speed. This guide explains Impact Damage mechanics and its effective application.
Understanding Impact Damage in Freedom Wars Remastered
Impact Damage is primarily associated with Heavy Melee weapons and certain Ranged Weapons. While a numerical value often accompanies the Impact Damage percentage, this doesn't directly increase overall damage. Instead, it represents non-elemental damage boosting the power of standard attacks, thus accelerating the Abductor's stagger rate. A full stagger meter results in the Abductor staggering, providing a window for significant damage before recovery.
Unlike the readily visible health bar, the stagger meter is hidden. Staggering can occur anytime the rate surpasses a threshold. This presents both advantages and disadvantages. Offline play allows for charged attacks, maximizing damage output. However, in online play, staggering might hinder teammates' attacks. Some Abductors, like Ramosa, react by moving backward, complicating precise hit placement during this period.
Boosting Stagger Damage in Freedom Wars Remastered
Increasing Stagger Damage necessitates unlocking the Weapon Development Facility. This facility enables weapon crafting and customization. The Manufacture Modules feature allows creating modules using various resources. The Stagger Damage Up Module requires Glassy Carbon, a common field resource in Basic Operations. Multiple identical modules can be combined using Synthesise Modules to enhance their effectiveness. Attaching the crafted module to a weapon boosts Impact Damage and stagger capability.
Given Impact Damage's non-elemental nature, prioritizing physical damage upgrades over elemental enhancements optimizes enemy staggering. Modules like Stagger Damage Up are particularly beneficial for users of heavy melee weapons or ranged weapons with inherent stagger-building properties.
