At Droid Gamers, we test all kinds of hardware, but receiving a projector was a first. The Formovie Episode One caught our attention as an intriguing way to enjoy mobile gaming on a larger screen.
Positioned as an affordable entry in the typically pricey projector market, the Episode One delivers on its promise – and then some, despite minor flaws.
The package includes the projector, remote (batteries sold separately), power cable, and manual. While it has substantial weight, it doesn't feel as premium as higher-end models.
This lighter build makes it genuinely portable - at just 3 pounds, you could easily take it anywhere.
Port selection is minimal with just one USB-A, one HDMI, and an audio jack. While some might want more, this basic setup meets typical needs at this price point.
Performance-wise, the 150 ISO lumen projector holds its own for the cost. Don't expect theater-quality brightness, but it gets the job done.

As expected, it struggles in daylight but shines in dark environments. Movies, TV shows, and streamed games all appeared crisp and clear.
For optimal image quality, we recommend at least 10 feet of projection distance. The built-in speaker delivers passable but noticeably thin audio quality.
While serviceable, we'd strongly suggest pairing it with external speakers for better sound.
The user interface stands out among budget projectors. Setup is intuitive, outperforming many pricier models we've struggled with.
Ultimately, the Formovie Episode One makes an excellent first projector. It's a competent all-rounder that satisfies casual users remarkably well.
