"Final Fantasy Starter Kit Preorders Restocked on Amazon"

Author : Emery Update:Aug 08,2025

One of the most anticipated trading card crossovers in recent years is almost here. Magic: The Gathering – Final Fantasy releases on June 13, and the only set still available from major retailers is the Starter Kit. Currently back in stock and available for preorder on Amazon for just $19.87, UK customers can also snag it for £15.99.

With the rest of the sets sold out and some singles already fetching over $500, you might want to secure your preorder before they vanish quicker than you can say "Chocobo."

Release Date: June 13, 2025. Pay Nothing Until Dispatch. $19.87 at Amazon

The upcoming set has been generating buzz ever since its announcement, and a new trailer has only stoked the excitement further.

Prices in the singles market are skyrocketing, with the borderless version of Cloud, Midgar Mercenary, currently priced at $147.23, and the Surge Foil version sitting at an impressive $599—the highest-priced card in the entire FF set.

If you’ve already preordered, or are simply hunting for rare singles, there are a few standout cards to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.

Take the stunning borderless Kefka, Court Mage card, showcased in the new MTG teaser trailer from PAX East, designed by the legendary Yoshitaka Amano.

TCG Player is a great resource for purchasing individual cards to build your deck without relying on random pulls. It’s also a handy tool for checking the value of your cards post-release, so if you pull any Surge Foil cards in your preorders, you might find yourself sitting on a goldmine.

However, prices fluctuate constantly, so some cards may shift in value as the release date approaches.

Other notable cards to watch out for when opening boosters or buying individually include the Cloud, Ex-Soldier Commander card, priced at $45.99 at the time of writing. Its ease of use for equipping other creatures on the field makes it a valuable addition to any deck.

Then there’s the full-art version of the Yuffie Kisaragi - Yuriko, the Tiger’s Shadow, currently priced just under $100. Its popularity as a Commander card, combined with its rarity and nostalgic 90’s FF7 artwork, explains its steep price tag.

When it comes to special cards, prices can go through the roof. Alongside the jaw-dropping $599 Cloud card, the borderless version of the Traveling Chocobo card costs $169.98, while the standard version is still pricey at $114.97.

You can also purchase the new Traveling Chocobo cards, highlighted in a teaser trailer featuring a limited-edition Gold Chocobo.

While some of the rarest cards can be costly, there are plenty of options available at lower prices on TCG Player. For instance, Sazh’s Chocobo is just $1.96, Tonberry costs $2.49, Summon: Shiva is $1.56, and Gladiolus Amicitia is only 33 cents.

Additionally, TCG Player is offering preorders for select Final Fantasy booster sets, though these are slightly above MSRP.

Options include a nine-booster Final Fantasy bundle (plus bonus cards) for $87.99 and a 30-pack Play Booster Display box for $164.99 plus shipping—both around $20-$30 above MSRP. Single sealed boosters are also available for $7.99 each plus shipping.
