In the highly anticipated cooperative action game, *Elden Ring Nightreign*, fans of From Software's signature gameplay will notice a notable absence: the infamous poisonous swamps. This revelation came directly from the project's product manager, Yasuhiro Kitao, during a recent discussion with journalists. Although a swamp-like area appeared in the *Elden Ring Nightreign* trailer, Kitao clarified that it represents a completely different setting. The decision to exclude poisonous swamps stems from the absence of Hidetaka Miyazaki, the head of From Software, who is renowned for his fondness for such challenging environments. Miyazaki's influence led to the inclusion of swamp locations in both *Elden Ring* and the *Dark Souls* series, but he did not participate in the development of *Elden Ring Nightreign*.

In other news, there's a glimmer of hope for fans hoping for more cooperative play options. While *Elden Ring Nightreign* has been announced with one-player and three-player modes, the developers initially excluded a two-player mode due to content balancing challenges. However, From Software is currently reevaluating the possibility of adding a two-player mode to the game, though no final decision has been made yet.
Mark your calendars: *Elden Ring Nightreign* is set to launch on May 30, 2025, and will be available on PC as well as two generations of consoles. Stay tuned for more updates as the release date approaches.
