Onimusha: Way of the Sword is slated for release in 2026, and Capcom has shared exciting new details about what fans can expect from this anticipated return to the franchise.The development team is focusing on three key elements: crafting compelling characters, introducing a new protagonist, and designing engaging enemies. They aim to authentically recreate the setting of Kyoto, featuring historical and real-life locations. Their goal is to deliver the "ultimate sword fighting action" game, emphasizing the visceral satisfaction of combat.
While specifics about the new protagonist remain under wraps, it's confirmed that Onimusha: Way of the Sword will be set in the Edo Period, where players will battle against evil creatures called Genma. Through a "twist of fate," the protagonist will wield an Oni Gauntlet, using it to vanquish enemies and absorb their souls.
The game is designed to be challenging but not "impossibly difficult," ensuring that action fans of all skill levels can fully enjoy the experience.

The second Open Beta test for Monster Hunter Wilds is on the horizon, and Capcom has revealed what players can expect. The highlight is the introduction of the new flagship monster, Arkveld, featured in an advanced quest that will challenge players' skills.Additional features include a Gypceros Hunt, a training area, and online functionalities like Private Lobbies and Online Single Player mode. Private Lobbies will not appear in searches, making them ideal for playing with friends, while Online Single Player mode allows players to engage without joining a lobby, with the option to use an S.O.S. Flare for multiplayer assistance.
Players can transfer their data from the first Open Beta test to the second, with returning features including Character Creator, Story Trial, and the Doshaguma hunt.
Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch on February 28, and the second Open Beta, featuring Cross-Play, will be available during the following times:
