The screenwriter behind Wesley Snipes' Blade film trilogy has expressed willingness to collaborate with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige to revive Mahershala Ali's stalled MCU reboot project.
The highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe installment has faced numerous obstacles in recent years, with Blade currently stuck in development limbo without clear signs of progressing forward.
Last month, musician Flying Lotus revealed on social media that he had been contracted to compose music for the Blade revival before its production collapsed. "I guess we're so far removed from it being feasible now," noted the artist-director behind Shudder's ASH. "Would've been exciting, but chances look slim."
Shortly before this revelation, Oscar-winning costume designer Ruth E. Carter disclosed her involvement in crafting period-accurate 1920s outfits for Blade's abandoned historical setting - a creative direction that promised remarkable visual artistry.
Co-star Delroy Lindo also addressed the project's unraveling in an Entertainment Weekly interview: "Marvel initially valued creative input from everyone involved. The conceptual framework and character development showed tremendous promise before inexplicably derailing."
First unveiled at 2019's Comic-Con, Blade has cycled through multiple directors including Yann Demange and Bassam Tariq without gaining production traction. Original trilogy scribe David S. Goyer recently told ScreenRant: "As a Marvel enthusiast, I'm baffled by these delays. I'd gladly return to the character if asked."
Though removed from Marvel's calendar seven months ago, Feige reassured fans during an Omelete interview: "We remain committed to Blade and Ali's interpretation. Audience transparency remains paramount whenever projects evolve."

The situation contrasts sharply with MCU smash Deadpool & Wolverine, which grossed $1.3 billion globally and featured Snipes' cameo reprisal. Star Ryan Reynolds has publicly advocated for Snipes' iteration to receive a farewell film comparable to Hugh Jackman's Logan.
"The original Blade trilogy pioneered today's superhero cinema landscape," Reynolds tweeted. "Without its trailblazing success, neither Fox's X-Men nor the MCU might exist."
Recent reports indicate Reynolds is developing another mutant team-up film where Deadpool would play supporting role to spotlight lesser-seen X-Men characters in innovative ways.
