Big news for fans of the "Now You See Me" franchise: the third installment, officially titled "Now You See Me: Now You Don’t," is set to hit theaters on November 14, 2025. Excitingly, Lionsgate has also confirmed that a fourth film is already in development.
This thrilling announcement was made by Adam Fogelson, the chair of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, during CinemaCon. The franchise, known for its action-packed heists and dazzling magic, has grossed an impressive $700 million worldwide to date. Director Ruben Fleischer, who is helming "Now You See Me: Now You Don’t," has signed on to develop and direct the fourth film as well.
The original cast members, including Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Morgan Freeman, are joined by a new generation of illusionists played by Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Ariana Greenblatt. Rosamund Pike also stars in the third film. Fleischer, who previously worked with Eisenberg and Harrelson on his debut film "Zombieland," brings his expertise from recent successes like "Uncharted" and "Venom," both of which performed exceptionally well at the box office.
Bobby Cohen, the original developer and producer of the series, will return to produce the third and fourth films alongside Alex Kurtzman of Secret Hideout. Meredith Wieck will oversee the project for Lionsgate.
Fogelson praised Fleischer’s work, saying, “Ruben has delivered all of the twists and turns and sleight-of-hand that audiences expect from this franchise while upping the stakes and scale in every way. We can’t wait for audiences to discover what he’s done with the third film and thrilled he’ll be making even more magic with us.”
Fleischer expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Directing Now You See Me: Now You Don’t was as much fun as making any movie in my career. It combines two of my favorite things — heist movies and magic — and working with this incredible cast was truly magical. Of course I want to keep it going.”
IGN's reviews of the previous films were mixed. The first film received a 6.3/10, with IGN noting, "Now You See Me seemed so promising, but it squanders its cool cast and nifty premise on smarmy, shallow characters and a flimsy, nonsensical plot." The sequel, "Now You See Me 2," scored a 6.2/10, with the comment, "Now You See Me 2 isn't the worst magic act in town, but it's all flash and no substance."
