This guide helps you befriend the enigmatic Dwarf in Stardew Valley. Hidden in the mines, he's a unique character requiring a different approach than other villagers. This updated guide reflects recent game updates.
Finding the Dwarf
Locate the large boulder near the mines' entrance (first floor). Destroy it using a copper pickaxe or bomb to reveal the Dwarf's shop.
Unlocking Communication
Before meaningful interaction, you must obtain all four Dwarf Scrolls (artifacts). Donate them to the museum; Gunther will reward you with a Dwarvish translation guide. Return to the mines and speak with him – now you can understand!
Gift Giving
Friendship hinges on gifts (two per week maximum). His birthday (Summer 22nd) multiplies friendship gains by eight.

Movie Theater Visits:
Once unlocked, take the Dwarf to the movie theater. He loves any movie but prefers Stardrop Sorbet and Rock Candy. He likes Cotton Candy, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jawbreaker, Salmon Burger, Sour Slimes, and Star Cookie. Avoid other snacks.
