Microsoft has officially announced the Wave 1 lineup for Xbox Game Pass in May 2025. According to a post on Xbox Wire, 12 games will join the subscription service, running through May 20th. Among these titles, the standout is Doom: The Dark Ages, the latest entry in id Software’s renowned FPS series. As a Microsoft-owned title, it will launch day-one on Game Pass.
However, Doom: The Dark Ages isn’t the only highlight. On May 6th, Dredge (available on Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) will debut on Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard. Described as a single-player fishing adventure with a dark twist, players can sell their catch, upgrade their boat, and uncover hidden secrets while exploring a mysterious archipelago.
May 7th brings several additions, including Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 (Cloud, Console, and PC) across all Game Pass tiers. Other titles joining that day are Dungeons of Hinterberg (Console), Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn (Xbox Series X|S), and Metal Slug Tactics (Console).
Another notable addition on May 8th is Revenge of the Savage Planet (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S), launching day-one on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Players will explore a strange alien world, scavenging upgrades and seeking revenge on their former employer.
Also on May 8th, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed (Cloud, Console, and PC) joins Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard. Fans can dive into an action-packed adventure with the beloved Turtle brothers.
On May 13th, Warhammer: Vermintide 2 (Cloud and Console) returns to Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass Standard, offering intense co-op gameplay against Chaos and Skaven factions.
The main event arrives on May 15th with Doom: The Dark Ages. This prequel to the critically acclaimed Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal offers an epic cinematic storyline and early access to the Premium Upgrade pack, including two-day early access to the campaign DLC.
One day later, on May 16th, Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo (Cloud, Console, and PC) launches on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass as another day-one title. This papercraft adventure takes players through a looped world of regrets and soulful exploration.
Wrapping up Wave 1 on May 20th are Firefighting Simulator: The Squad and Police Simulator: Patrol Officers, both available across Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard.
Games leaving Xbox Game Pass on May 15th include Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, Chants of Sennaar, Dune: Spice Wars (Game Preview), Hauntii, and The Big Con. Members can use their subscription discount to purchase these titles and keep them in their personal libraries.
