Warped Wire Acquired: Essential for NieR: Automata

NieR: Automata features a wide array of enemies, many of which drop valuable materials for upgrading your pod and weapons. While most materials are acquired naturally during gameplay, some, like Warped Wire, require targeted farming. This guide pinpoints the best location to efficiently farm Warped Wire.

Farming Warped Wire in NieR: Automata

Warped Wire is a rare drop from stacked bipedal machines. These enemies are uncommon, but one area offers a high concentration. Fast travel to the Desert Camp access point and proceed towards the main desert. Before reaching the open desert, you'll traverse mountainous terrain following a pipe, passing through some ruins. This section boasts multiple stacked enemies, making it ideal for farming.

Focus on two small clearings near destroyed buildings. The machines in these areas are predominantly the stacked variant. Warped Wire has a reasonable drop rate; expect one or two per clearing. Consider using a Drop Rate Up plug-in chip to expedite the process.

Respawning Enemies:

To optimize farming, utilize these enemy respawning methods:

  • Fast Travel: Fast travel to another location, then return to Desert Camp to fully respawn all enemies. This is significantly faster than the alternative.
  • Run Away: Running a considerable distance and returning will also respawn enemies. However, fast traveling is much more efficient.

Investing in drop rate increase chips is highly recommended, as many upgrade materials are machine drops. You'll likely employ similar farming strategies for other upgrades. Movement speed increase chips also improve travel times between access points, saving valuable seconds and aiding in completing race side quests.
