World of Warcraft's Patch 11.1 introduces thrilling new races: Breakneck D.R.I.V.E. and Skyrocket races. These replace traditional Skyriding races within the new Undermine zone.
Undermine, a vast subterranean Goblin city, prohibits flying. Instead, players navigate using the customizable D.R.I.V.E. vehicle, offering a unique, high-speed ground-based racing experience surpassing even Skyriding's speed. Breakneck races fully utilize this D.R.I.V.E. system.
Complementing the ground-based races are the innovative Skyrocket races. These utilize Goblin jetpacks for aerial maneuvering, offering a distinct blend of existing flight mechanics. Unlike Steady flight, continuous air-borne movement is required; unlike Skyriding, momentum and altitude are maintained. Ring collection boosts speed, but increased velocity reduces maneuverability, adding a strategic layer of difficulty.
Skyrocket and Breakneck Race Details:
No Skyriding races exist in Undermine. Both race types offer achievements for completing each course with Bronze, Silver, and Gold times. Reverse versions of all Skyrocket and Breakneck races are included, though advanced or challenge courses are absent.

Player reception to the Skyrocket races is currently mixed. While some anticipate them eagerly, others express concern over the perceived stiffness and lack of responsiveness compared to Skyriding. As Patch 11.1 remains in development (with a likely February release), further refinements are anticipated.
