Using the Voodoo Doll in Phasmophobia

The Voodoo Doll is often considered one of the safer Cursed Possessions in Phasmophobia, thanks to its favorable risk-reward ratio. While game updates have adjusted some of its benefits, it remains a solid choice.
Its primary function is to compel the ghost to perform evidence-related actions by inserting each pin into the doll, one at a time. This is especially useful when dealing with a quiet or uncooperative ghost, as it can provoke actions like EMF5 readings or Ultraviolet footprints.
There are 10 pins you can push into the doll to trigger these interactions, but be aware of the risks. Each pin inserted reduces the user's sanity by 5%. Inserting all pins will drain up to 50% sanity, significantly increasing the chance of ghost hunts.
The greatest danger lies with the heart pin. Pins are inserted randomly, and if the heart pin is pushed, it instantly drains 10% sanity and triggers a Cursed Hunt. During this event, the ghost spawns nearby and hunts for an extended duration—20 seconds longer than usual.
Despite the risks, the Voodoo Doll can be a worthwhile tool for gathering evidence, provided you're adequately prepared.
What Are Cursed Objects (Possessions) in Phasmophobia?

Cursed Possessions, often called "Cursed Objects," are special items in Phasmophobia that appear randomly on any map, depending on the difficulty or if you're playing Challenge Mode.
Unlike regular equipment, which helps locate the ghost and collect evidence with minimal risk, Cursed Objects serve as shortcuts to influence the ghost but come with significant danger.
Some Cursed Objects are safer to use than others, based on their effects. It's up to you and your team to decide whether to use them—there's no penalty for avoiding them. Only one Cursed Possession will appear per contract by default, unless custom settings are applied.
There are seven different Cursed Objects in the game, including:
