Unlocking Every Weapon in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Unlike previous Dynasty Warriors titles where players controlled numerous characters, each with unique weapons, Dynasty Warriors: Origins features a single protagonist who unlocks a diverse arsenal. This guide details how to acquire each weapon.
Weapon Acquisition in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Prior games linked weapons to specific characters, each with unique movesets. Dynasty Warriors: Origins simplifies this by allowing weapon switching at will.
Starting with a sword, additional weapons are earned by defeating specific enemy officers during missions. All nine primary weapons are obtainable before Chapter 3's conclusion, though the order might vary based on defeated officers. For optimal early acquisition, follow this guide:
- Sword: Starting weapon.
- Spear: Complete the Battle of Guangyang (Chapter 1). Purchase required for story progression.
- Gauntlets: Defeat Zhou Cang in the Battle of Guangzong (Chapter 1).
- Wheels: Defeat Zhang Ju in the Suppression of You Province (Chapter 2).
- Podao: Defeat any officer wielding a Podao during the Subjugation of the White Wave Bandits (Chapter 2).
- Staff: Defeat an officer within a treasure chamber's secret passage during the Assassination of Dong Zhuo (Chapter 2).
- Twin Pike: Defeat Zhang Liao in the Battle of Hulao Gate (Chapter 2).
- Lance: Defeat an officer wielding a lance on the opposing side during the Battle of Xu Province (Chapter 2). This depends on your chosen faction (Cao Cao or Liu Bei).
- Crescent Blade: Unlocked in Chapter 3 after aligning with a specific faction. The exact mission varies due to branching storylines, but acquisition precedes chapter completion.
A final, powerful weapon—the halberd—awaits after campaign completion. Defeating Lu Bu at the Battle of Hulao Gate unlocks this coveted weapon.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins is available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
