Originally slated for a March 20, 2025 release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, Assassin's Creed Shadows has been pushed back. According to prominent insider Tom Henderson, this delay addresses historical and cultural inaccuracies, as well as overall polish. While rumors circulated about Yasuke's character arc being significantly altered, Henderson clarifies that while some narrative adjustments will be made, his presence in the game remains intact.
The delay stems from a confluence of factors, including the late integration of historical consultants and internal communication challenges. From a technical standpoint, the game simply isn't yet ready for launch. While bug fixes are underway, more substantial gameplay refinements will require additional time. However, Henderson's sources suggest a Valentine's Day release on February 14th is now the target, indicating sufficient time for completion.
