Akatsuki Games has announced the end-of-service (EOS) for their latest game, Tribe Nine. Launched just a few months ago in February across Android, iOS, and PC (Steam), the decision to shut down the game has come as a shock to many. Let's delve into the details and reasons behind this sudden closure.
When Is the Tribe Nine EOS?
Tribe Nine is set to officially close its doors on November 27th, 2025. Alongside this announcement, Akatsuki Games confirmed that Chapter 4 of the main story will not be released, despite the game having recently teased upcoming content. This news is particularly disappointing for fans who were eagerly anticipating the next chapter.
As of May 15th, all planned updates, new features, bug fixes, and additional content have been canceled. This means that any promised adjustments or new features mentioned in earlier in-game notices are no longer happening.
Unfortunately, two anticipated characters, Ichinosuke Akiba and Saizo Akiba, who were set to join the game's roster, will not be added. Additionally, refunds will be issued for Paid Enigma Entities used on items such as Armed Support, Advanced Support, and the Support Contract – Revenio. These refunds will be processed after the Revenio contract concludes.
Purchases of Enigma Entities and Daily Passes have been halted across both the app and the web store. However, players can continue using their existing Enigma Entities until the game's official shutdown on November 27th.
Why Did It Fail So Soon?
Tribe Nine is a free-to-play extreme action RPG known for its distinctive style and worldbuilding. Despite its quality, the game faced challenges from the start. The release schedule was notably slow, with only one story chapter and one event released over three months. Furthermore, there was little incentive for players to spend money, as it was possible to build a competitive team with just one pull and without the need for duplicate characters, which, while player-friendly, did not support the game's financial model.
The decision to incorporate a gacha system into Tribe Nine appears to have been a risky move that ultimately did not pay off. Despite these challenges, the game remains playable until November 27th. If you haven't tried it yet, you can still experience Tribe Nine by downloading it from the Google Play Store.
