Side Story Locations Revealed in Split Fiction

While Split Fiction offers a relatively straightforward and linear co-op adventure, there are numerous opportunities to explore alternative paths and engage in what the game refers to as Side Stories. Although these are technically optional, they house some of the game’s most memorable moments. For instance, you might transform into pigs or participate in a high-stakes game show. Completing all 12 Side Stories unlocks an achievement, ensuring you experience everything the game has to offer. Here’s how to locate each one:

Legend of the Sandfish

The first Side Story in Split Fiction appears naturally in Chapter 2 following the Rush Hour section. There’s no missing it.

Farmlife

In Chapter 2, within the Streets of Neon segment, this Side Story is tucked away after jumping over a small barrier and before taking the elevators on the left.

Mountain Hike

Also in Chapter 2, under the Big City Life section, you'll discover this Side Story near the Port-A-Pottys. Have Mio hop inside one, then use Zoe to toss her to a ledge with a ladder. Lower the ladder to access it.

Train Heist

Chapter 3 begins with the Lord Evergreen section. While traversing the water with a wooden plank, search for this Side Story on a ledge reachable via wall running.

Gameshow

In the Walking Sticks of Doom section of Chapter 3, this Side Story sits on a platform after a side-scrolling section. Some light platforming leads you to it.

Collapsing Star

As you navigate the Halls of Ice in Chapter 3, this Side Story lies on the main path, making it impossible to overlook.

Kites

At the end of the Toxic Tumblers section in Chapter 4, you’ll stumble upon this Side Story in a long tube.

Moon Market

After the crane sequence in the Test Chamber section of Chapter 4, spot this Side Story on a ledge accessible through platforming.

Notebook

This Side Story concludes Chapter 4 in the Soaring Desperados section. Once equipped with the jetpack, fly past the giant wheel to find it on the left.

Slopes of War

In Chapter 5’s Water Temple section, solve a lever puzzle after hatching your dragons to unlock this Side Story.

Space Escape

Found in the Craft Temple section of Chapter 5, this Side Story requires launching Mio to a ledge using her glide and Zoe’s roll, followed by dropping a column for Zoe to ascend.

Birthday Cake

Conclude your Side Story quest in Chapter 5’s Treasure Temple section by solving the soul puzzle, and this Side Story will appear on your left.

Upon completing all 12 Side Stories, you’ll automatically earn the Bookworms achievement in Split Fiction. The game is currently available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
