As someone who grew up in the 90s, The Next Generation (though it originally aired 1987-1994) remains my definitive Star Trek experience. While Deep Space Nine and Strange New Worlds are exceptional, and the original series deserves its legendary status, nothing compares to Picard's leadership for me. The entire bridge crew - Data, Troi, Worf, Riker, La Forge, Dr. Crusher, even Wesley - represent peak Trek character development. Those wonderfully campy early seasons? They're part of the charm. This series remains the ultimate comfort watch.

While Paramount+ offers all Star Trek content (plus other great shows), there's something reassuring about owning physical copies that don't depend on subscription status or internet connectivity. If you value permanent access to TNG beyond streaming services, this set is ideal.
