The Great Sneeze is a delightful new addition to the Android gaming scene, developed by Studio Monstrum. This unique point-and-click adventure game takes a whimsical approach by centering its chaos around, believe it or not, a powerful sneeze that disrupts an art gallery.
Really? The Great Sneeze Causes Chaos?
It might seem far-fetched, but in The Great Sneeze, a single sneeze is all it takes to throw an entire art exhibition into disarray. The game is set just before the grand opening of a Caspar David Friedrich exhibition, where players take control of three friends: Kaspar, David, and Friederike.
Their mission? To fix the pandemonium that ensues. Initially, they assist Mr. Dietzke, the curator, with last-minute preparations. Suddenly, an unexpected sneeze sends paintings flying and the meticulously arranged exhibition into chaos.
The climax of the disruption involves Friedrich’s iconic painting, Wanderer above the Sea of Fog, which takes an adventurous journey through other artworks. Players must guide the trio to chase down the wandering figure, solve a series of clever puzzles, and restore order to the exhibition before its official opening.
The Great Sneeze offers a humorous, absurd, yet charming point-and-click experience. Take a peek at the teaser below:
The Visuals Are Amazing!
Given that the game revolves around Friedrich’s masterpieces, it serves as an engaging introduction to his work. The visuals brilliantly mimic the ambiance of a real art museum while maintaining a playful tone.
The Great Sneeze features straightforward yet captivating puzzles that require players to pay close attention to the details within Friedrich’s paintings. The game also showcases the humorous interactions between the three protagonists, adding depth to the gameplay.
Developed with the backing of major German museums, including the Hamburger Kunsthalle, Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden, and Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, Studio Monstrum has crafted an immersive experience rooted in cultural authenticity.
