The Roland-Garros eSeries by Renault has just unveiled its eight finalists, setting the stage for an epic showdown on May 24th. Reigning champion Alessandro Bianco will defend his title against a talented lineup including Hizir Balkanci, the winner of the first Open Qualifier, alongside Anyndia Lestari, Omer Feder, Adjua Thembisa Boucher, Eugen Mosdir, Bartu Yildirim, and Samuel Sanin Ortiz. These competitors have emerged from a staggering pool of 515,000 players across 221 countries, who engaged in 9.5 million Tennis Clash matches to secure their spots in the Final Stage at the Roland-Garros Tenniseum.
This year's tournament introduces an electrifying format, where the finalists will be divided into two teams, each led by a tennis legend. Gilles Simon, former ATP world Number 6 and a finalist from last year, will captain one team, while Wimbledon Champion Marion Bartoli will lead the other. The teams will compete in a series of matches, with winners advancing to the Winner Bracket. Those eliminated will have a second chance in the Loser Bracket, where teams disband, and the ultimate goal is to crown the next Roland-Garros eSeries champion.
Adding to the excitement, the event will be hosted by the renowned French personality and Twitch streamer Samuel Etienne, who boasts over 1 million followers. He will be joined by esports expert Quento and former Tennis Clash number 1, Benny, also known as GP365. The tournament will be brought to life in true Roland-Garros fashion, complete with a replica of the iconic Philippe-Chatrier court and custom outfits. Esteemed French umpire Aurélie Tourte will officiate what promises to be a series of thrilling matches.
250 lucky spectators will experience the action live at the auditorium, while fans worldwide can catch every match and engage in interactive segments via Samuel Etienne’s Twitch and the Roland-Garros YouTube channels, starting at 4pm CEST. Special guests will join in for passionate discussions and fun, celebrating the worlds of tennis and eTennis.
