Pokemon TCG Pocket Pack Hourglasses Remain Essential for Future Expansions
The Pokemon Company has officially confirmed that Pack Hourglasses will continue to function in future Pokemon TCG Pocket expansions, dispelling rumors suggesting their obsolescence. This means players can continue accumulating their stockpile of these valuable time-savers.
The clarification comes amidst speculation surrounding the upcoming January expansion. With the recent addition of the Mythical Island booster pack (featuring 68 new cards) and the initial Genetic Apex packs (226 cards across three packs), some players had already completed their collections, leading to concerns about the utility of Pack Hourglasses. The fear was that a new in-game currency might replace them for future expansion packs.
However, The Pokemon Company's statement assures players that Pack Hourglasses will continue to reduce booster pack opening delays by one hour per hourglass, regardless of the expansion. While the introduction of a new currency for expansion-specific hourglasses remains a possibility in the future, it's not impacting the next anticipated expansion.
This confirmation is welcome news for players who utilize Pack Hourglasses to supplement their Pack Stamina. Without hourglasses, players must wait 12-hour intervals to earn enough stamina to open two booster packs daily. Players can obtain Pack Hourglasses by completing daily challenges and through the daily Complimentary Item Set in the shop.
The continued relevance of Pack Hourglasses underscores the ongoing development of Pokemon TCG Pocket, which replaced Pokemon TCG Live for many players in October 2024. The game's success virtually guarantees further expansions, making the continued utility of Pack Hourglasses a significant advantage for players.
