Persona 5: The Phantom X Now Open for Pre-Registration on Android Globally

The wait is finally over for fans of the Persona series as Persona 5: The Phantom X gears up for a global release. Pre-registration for Android users is now open, following the announcement that the game will launch in Japan on June 26th, 2025. Excitingly, the global launch will happen on the same date, marking a significant milestone for the game's international fans.

Originally launched in China a year ago, Persona 5: The Phantom X has since expanded to Taiwan, South Korea, Macau, and Hong Kong, where it's available on Android, iOS, and PC platforms. Now, SEGA and Atlus are ensuring a worldwide release, making the game accessible to a broader audience.

Developed by Black Wing Game Studio with contributions from former Persona 5 developers, Phantom X operates on a free-to-play model. As expected, it includes a gacha system that allows players to summon various characters to join their party, adding depth and variety to the gameplay.

The global version of the game will come with Japanese voice acting and options for either English or Japanese text, catering to a diverse audience. In Persona 5: The Phantom X, players will take on the role of a new protagonist, leading a fresh crew of Phantom Thieves through a stylized version of modern-day Tokyo. The game introduces new palaces and mementos, providing unique settings for exploration and combat.

Alongside its signature turn-based combat and dual-life rhythm, Phantom X incorporates light social simulation elements and dungeon crawling. The game also features a guild system, a PvE mode known as Velvet Trials, and familiar faces from the original Persona 5, enhancing the connection to the beloved series.

The story begins with the protagonist waking up from a nightmare to a distorted reality. Along their journey, they encounter a talking owl named Lefaye and the usual Velvet Room crew, including the unsettling long-nosed man and his assistants, adding to the game's mysterious atmosphere.

That concludes our coverage on the global pre-registration for Persona 5: The Phantom X. Stay tuned for more gaming news, including our next scoop on Crunchyroll’s Roguelike Combat Deckbuilder, Shogun Showdown.
