Unlocking Ascendancy Classes in Path of Exile 2

Path of Exile 2's Early Access allows players to enhance their chosen class with Ascendancies, offering specialized abilities and a unique gameplay experience. While not subclasses in the traditional sense, Ascendancies add a layer of depth and customization.

To unlock Ascendancies, players must first complete a Trial of Ascendancy. Currently, the Act 2 Trial of the Sekhemas and the Act 3 Trial of Chaos are available. Completing either trial rewards you with two passive Ascendancy Points and unlocks the ability to select an Ascendancy Class. The earlier Act 2 trial is recommended for quicker access to enhanced abilities.

All Path of Exile 2 Ascendancies (Early Access)

Currently, six base classes are available, each with two Ascendancy options. The full game will feature twelve base classes, likely introducing more Ascendancies.

Mercenary Ascendancies

The Mercenary class offers two distinct Ascendancy paths:

Witch Hunter

This Ascendancy focuses on passive buffs, boosting offense, defense, and battlefield control. Abilities like Culling Strike and No Mercy enhance damage output, making it ideal for players who enjoy debuffing enemies and maximizing damage.

Gemling Legionnaire

This option emphasizes Skill Gems, allowing for additional skill slots and supplementary buffs. Its flexibility allows for highly customized builds, catering to players who prefer diverse skill combinations.

Monk Ascendancies

The Monk class branches into two Ascendancy paths:

Invoker

Embrace elemental powers and inflict status effects with the Invoker Ascendancy. It's a strong choice for melee-focused players seeking elemental dominance.

Acolyte of Chayula

Harness the power of shadows with the Acolyte of Chayula. This Ascendancy provides defensive and healing capabilities alongside reality-warping damage boosts, offering a unique shadow-based playstyle.

Ranger Ascendancies

Rangers can specialize in two distinct Ascendancy paths:

Deadeye

Enhance ranged combat prowess with the Deadeye Ascendancy. Increased attack speed, damage, and accuracy (via Eagle Eyes and Called Shots) make this a powerful choice for archer builds.

Pathfinder

Employ poison and elemental damage with the Pathfinder Ascendancy. Abilities like Poisonous Concoction and Contagious Contamination offer a unique approach to ranged combat.

Sorceress Ascendancies

Sorceresses can choose between two Ascendancy paths:

Stormweaver

Amplify elemental damage with the Stormweaver Ascendancy. The Elemental Storm ability and increased elemental damage output make this a solid choice for elemental casters.

Chronomancer

Manipulate time and cooldown times with the Chronomancer Ascendancy. This offers strategic advantages and a dynamic combat style.

Warrior Ascendancies

Warriors have two Ascendancy options:

Titan
