Developer Pocketpair has unveiled an exciting new addition to their universe with the announcement of Palworld! More Than Just Pals, a dating sim set within the world of their massively popular monster-catching game. Announced on March 31, 2025, this is no April Fools’ Day prank, despite the timing sparking skepticism among fans accustomed to the annual flood of gaming industry jests.
Pocketpair is keen to dispel any doubts: Palworld! More Than Just Pals is a legitimate project that evolved from a light-hearted April Fools’ gag in 2024. The dating sim is slated for release on PC via Steam at a date yet to be specified.
This intriguing expansion to the Palworld universe invites players to dive into a romantic adventure at Palagos Private Academy. As a transfer student, players will have the opportunity to befriend and potentially fall in love with a diverse cast of student Pals, such as the "cute" and "mysterious" Katress and the "timid" Chillet, among others directly inspired by Palworld's creature roster.
According to Pocketpair, players can choose to nurture friendships, pursue romantic relationships, or take a more... unconventional path with the Pals. The official Steam page offers a glimpse into the unique dynamics players will explore at the academy.
This doesn't concern April Fools :)

As Palworld marks its first anniversary, the community remains engaged with ongoing updates that include crossplay support, Blueprint upgrades, and a new photo mode. While fans eagerly await Palworld! More Than Just Pals, there's also a glimmer of hope for a Nintendo Switch 2 version of the original game. Even if a Switch port doesn't materialize, enthusiasts can look forward to the possibility of experiencing the dating sim on Nintendo's next console.
