The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered breathes new life into one of Bethesda's landmark titles, enhancing visuals, refining gameplay mechanics, and more. Yet, the team at Virtuos has chosen to preserve one of the original game's most cherished quirks.
Veteran fans of The Elder Scrolls series are well-acquainted with Master Speechcraft trainer Tandilwe, a High Elf located in the Temple of the One within the Imperial City. When Oblivion first hit the shelves for PC and Xbox 360 over 19 years ago, it became evident that Tandilwe herself could benefit from some speech training. One of her voice lines, famously, includes a recording of actress Linda Kenyon attempting to perfect her delivery, a moment that has since become a beloved blooper.

As players embarked on their journey through a revitalized Cyrodiil yesterday, many were eager to see how faithful the remaster would be to the original. While the game boasts updated environments, character models, and items, fans have been delighted to discover that many of the original's charming imperfections remain. Tandilwe's iconic blooper, in particular, has returned to the delight of many, preserved exactly as it was nearly two decades ago, complete with its lack of subtitles.

In a 2019 interview with YouTube channel Jake 'The Voice' Parr, Linda Kenyon, upon learning of her blooper's internet fame, humorously remarked, "It wasn't my fault!"
While thousands of players dive into Oblivion Remastered, debates swirl around whether the Bethesda re-release leans more towards a remake than a remaster. However, many are simply thrilled to see that much of the original's quirky charm has been preserved. This decision by Bethesda and Virtuos to maintain these elements has been well-received by both new and returning players.
