Nintendo's Alarmo Alarm Clock: Wider Release and Enhanced Features
Nintendo's innovative alarm clock, Alarmo, is slated for a broader release in March 2025, as announced via the company's Twitter (X) account. Initially requiring a Nintendo Online membership, this restriction will be lifted for the wider rollout.
Beyond the Initial Frenzy:
The initial release saw Alarmo sell out rapidly. In Japan, sales were temporarily suspended on the My Nintendo Store due to overwhelming demand, shifting to a lottery system for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. Similar high demand led to sellouts in other locations like New York City.
March 2025: Wider Availability:
Alarmo will be available at major retailers globally, including Target, Walmart, GameStop, and other authorized retailers. The $99.99 USD price point remains unchanged.
Key Features of the Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo:
Alarmo boasts a unique gameplay-inspired wake-up experience. Users select from 42 scenes featuring characters and sounds from popular Nintendo franchises like Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 3, with more to be added via free updates.
The alarm gently starts, escalating if you linger too long in bed. A motion sensor allows for silencing the alarm without touching the device. Additional features include hourly chimes, sleep sounds, and sleep pattern tracking. A "Button Mode" is recommended for households with pets or other occupants sharing the bed.
With its expanded release, Alarmo promises a fun and engaging way to start the day for Nintendo fans worldwide. The removal of the Nintendo Online requirement makes this unique alarm clock accessible to a much wider audience.
