While *DOOM: The Dark Ages* was undoubtedly the star attraction at Developer_Direct, captivating gamers with its thrilling reveal, it wasn't the only highlight of the event. Koei Tecmo thrilled fans by announcing *Ninja Gaiden 4*, the latest installment in their acclaimed series, slated for release in the fall of 2025.
The debut trailer for *Ninja Gaiden 4* promises an action-packed experience, with the iconic ninja Ryu Hayabusa taking center stage. The game introduces innovative mechanics, including the ability to swiftly navigate through environments using wires and rails, as demonstrated in the gameplay trailer.
The setting for *Ninja Gaiden 4* is a meticulously crafted cyberpunk city, perpetually shrouded in toxic rain. Players will battle through waves of enhanced soldiers and monstrous otherworldly beings in their quest to break an ancient curse that plagues the megacity.
In addition to the new game, the event showcased a significant remaster of *Ninja Gaiden 2*, which has already hit the shelves for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, and is readily available in the Game Pass catalog. Team Ninja has leveraged Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) for this remaster, overhauling character models, visual effects, and landscapes. They've also enriched the game with elements from more recent series entries, including three new playable characters.
Koei Tecmo's efforts have not gone unnoticed, and they are rightfully basking in the spotlight of the gaming community's attention.
