Mystery Thriller 'Darkside Detective' Debuts with Anticipated Sequel

Akupara Games has been busy lately, releasing a string of new titles. Following their recent deck-building game, Zoeti, comes The Darkside Detective, a quirky puzzle game. And that's not all – they've also released the sequel, The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark, making both available simultaneously!

Exploring the World of The Darkside Detective

The game opens on a gloomy, fog-shrouded night in Twin Lakes, a city where the strange, supernatural, and utterly absurd are everyday occurrences. Our heroes are Detective Francis McQueen and his partner, the endearingly inept Officer Patrick Dooley.

Together, they form the Darkside Division, a perpetually underfunded unit of the Twin Lakes Police Department. You'll join them in solving nine short, engaging cases, delving into the hilarious and bizarre world of The Darkside Detective and its equally witty follow-up, A Fumble in the Dark.

These point-and-click adventures present a variety of challenges. Expect everything from time-travel puzzles and monstrous tentacles to uncovering carnival secrets and battling mafia zombies. Check out the trailer below for a taste of the action!

The game is a fun homage to pop culture, filled with references to classic horror movies, sci-fi shows, and buddy cop films. Case titles alone are entertaining: Malice in Wonderland, Tome Alone, Disorient Express, Police Farce, Don of the Dead, Buy Hard, and Baits Motel.
