Capcom has rolled out a fresh feature in *Monster Hunter Wilds* that lets players tweak the appearances of their hunters and Palicos. The first round of edits comes free of charge, but any further modifications will require you to buy Character Edit Vouchers. These vouchers come in packs of three for $6, or you can snag a combo set for both your hunter and Palico for $10. Without these vouchers, your customization options are limited to hairstyles, eyebrow color, makeup, and clothing; you won't be able to touch those core facial features.

This new monetization system wasn’t part of the game’s early previews and only came to light last week through Capcom's social media channels. Despite the buzz around microtransactions and some performance hiccups, *Monster Hunter Wilds* shattered records by attracting over 1.3 million concurrent players on Steam at launch.
As of now, Capcom hasn’t responded to the community's feedback on this move. Players have been vocal about their discontent with the paid customization model, drawing unfavorable comparisons to earlier games in the series where appearance changes were either free or could be unlocked with in-game currency. Many in the fanbase believe this new approach chips away at what was once a core, unrestricted feature of the *Monster Hunter* franchise.
