Compulsion Games unveils a story centered around Hazel, a young woman whose search for her mother after a devastating hurricane leads her into a fantastical world brimming with creatures from Southern myths. The game launches April 8th, 2025. Explore diverse environments, from flooded landscapes to Appalachian mountains, all steeped in Southern Gothic atmosphere.
Hazel discovers she's a "Weaver," wielding magical abilities to manipulate the threads of fate. Her guide, the talking Catfish, reveals the truth of her heritage and the challenges that lie ahead.
Mastering the Art of Weaving
Combat in South of Midnight revolves around Hazel's unique Weaving powers. Using a spindle, weaving hooks, and a distaff, she engages in tactical battles against corrupted creatures called Haints. Master "Push," "Pull," and "Weave" spells to gain the upper hand, utilizing combos and strategic maneuvers.
Weaving isn't just for combat; it's key to exploration and puzzle-solving. Hazel can conjure past forms of objects, such as a spectral carriage or glider, to navigate the environment.
Confronting Mythical Creatures
