Meta Stops Selling Quest Pro VR Headset

The Meta Quest Pro is officially discontinued. Meta's website confirms its unavailability, ending speculation following earlier announcements of its impending demise. The high price point of $1499.99, significantly more expensive than the standard Meta Quest line ($299.99 - $499.99), hindered its widespread adoption, leading to its discontinuation. While some remaining units might exist in retail stores, they are expected to sell out quickly.

Meta recommends the Meta Quest 3 as a superior replacement, offering a compelling "ultimate mixed reality experience" at a much lower price of $499. The Quest 3 boasts improved specifications compared to the Quest Pro, including higher resolution, a faster refresh rate, and a lighter design, resulting in a potentially more comfortable VR experience. Furthermore, the Quest 3 is compatible with the Quest Pro's Touch Pro controllers. For budget-conscious consumers, the Meta Quest 2S provides a more affordable option at $299.99, albeit with slightly reduced specifications.
