With the release of Captain America: Brave New World, it's the perfect time to revisit the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), which now boasts an impressive 35 films. But with so many to choose from, which one stands out as your favorite? Do you have a special place in your heart for the early days of the MCU, like Iron Man? Or do you lean toward the epic team-ups that brought the Infinity Saga to a thrilling conclusion?
Use our interactive tier list tool below to rank your favorite MCU films and discover where your preferences fall.
There are countless movies to consider—and just to clarify, this list includes only titles from Kevin Feige’s official MCU lineup. So, while we love them, this time around we're excluding Sony Marvel films (except, of course, for Wolverine). Here's a look at my personal tier list, based purely on my enjoyment of each film over the years:
Simon Cardy's MCU Tier List
Unfortunately, Brave New World falls short of being the MCU revival many hoped for. It features what may be the most awkward script in the franchise so far, landing it squarely in the D tier. And while I know opinions will vary, some of my other placements might raise eyebrows too—like Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) joining the bottom tier. While it wasn’t the worst MCU film, it simply didn’t resonate with me. You can read more about my thoughts on that here.
That said, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania still holds the title of my least favorite MCU film—making it an easy D-tier pick.
On the brighter side, the top tiers are reserved for the five films I consider truly exceptional. Captain America: Civil War and The Winter Soldier are clear S-tier choices, each delivering powerful emotional storytelling and thrilling espionage, respectively. Then there's Thor: Ragnarok, one of the funniest and most entertaining comedies of the last decade. And of course, both Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame rightfully earn their place at the top, delivering a stunning and satisfying conclusion to the Infinity Saga.
Don’t agree with my rankings? Think Spider-Man: No Way Home is the best of Tom Holland’s trilogy? Or believe Black Panther deserves S-tier recognition?
