Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls Closed Beta Coming to PS5

The highly anticipated fighter Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls will host a PlayStation 5-exclusive closed beta test from September 5-7. Notably, this testing window concludes just before the PC beta for Riot Games' 2XKO begins on September 9.

Developed by Arc System Works (creators of Guilty Gear) and published by Sony, this 4v4 Marvel combat title is scheduled for full release on PS5, Steam, and Epic Games Store in 2026.

Marvel's Mightiest Roster

  • Captain America
  • Iron Man
  • Spider-Man (confirmed for full release)
  • Doctor Doom
  • Storm
  • Ms. Marvel
  • Star-Lord
  • Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes)

Each character receives Arc System Works' signature stylized redesign and unique combat mechanics.

Closed Beta Features

  • 6 playable fighters
  • Online multiplayer matches
  • Spectator mode
  • Training tutorials

Interested players can register through the PlayStation website. If encountering an "Invalid Link" error, this indicates you've already enrolled via the PlayStation Beta program.

The Fighting Game Renaissance

The fighting game scene enters an unprecedented boom period:

  • Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls (PS5/PC 2026)
  • 2XKO (Riot Games' League of Legends fighter)
  • Invincible VS (featuring Omni-Man, multiplatform)
  • New Virtua Fighter in development (Sega)

These titles join established franchises releasing new DLC, making this one of the most competitive eras in fighting game history.
