Krysten Ritter is set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the highly anticipated second season of Daredevil: Born Again. The news was officially confirmed during the Disney Upfront presentation in New York, as reported by Variety. This exciting announcement comes after months of speculation and rumors that the Disney+ series might bring back several of the beloved Netflix Defenders, much to the delight of fans eager to see these characters join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Ritter shared the stage with her Daredevil and The Defenders co-star Charlie Cox, expressing her enthusiasm for returning to the role of the hard-hitting private investigator. "It's so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU," Ritter stated. "I'm so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!"

Ritter first brought Jessica Jones to life on screen with the premiere of Jessica Jones Season 1 on Netflix in 2015. The series continued for two more seasons, culminating in The Defenders team-up series. However, as Netflix's partnership with Marvel for original programming began to fade, so did the prospects of seeing Ritter reprise her role.
The landscape changed in 2021 when Disney regained the rights to several characters, including Jessica Jones. Following Charlie Cox's return in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his lead role in the Daredevil: Born Again series on Disney+, fans speculated about the potential return of other Netflix heroes. With The Punisher playing a significant role in Season 1, Ritter's return in Season 2 feels like a natural progression.
Ritter's last appearance as Jessica Jones was in Season 3, which aired in 2019. Her comments at the upfront presentation hint at more adventures for Jessica Jones in the MCU, but for now, fans can look forward to her appearance in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Although Disney has not yet announced a specific release date, showrunner Dario Scardapane has indicated that the new season will premiere in March 2026.
