Immersive Detail: A Key to Success

Warhorse Studios' meticulous attention to detail is a major factor in KCD2's success. Building on the series' reputation for realism (perishable food, cleaning mechanics, sword sharpening, etc.), KCD2 introduces further immersive elements.

Senior Game Designer Ondřej Bittner highlighted a new stealth mechanic involving accumulating dirt and grime, eventually leading to a "body odor" debuff that alerts nearby enemies. The introduction of "handgonnes," historically accurate early firearms with their inherent inaccuracy and long reload times, adds another layer of authenticity, even if intended as a somewhat humorous element.

Paid DLC will launch sequentially: "Brushes with Death" (Summer), "Legacy of the Forge" (Autumn), and "Mysteria Ecclesiae" (Winter).
